What should I wear to my appointment?
Comfortable clothing is recommended for all appointments. Please note that the area of injury will need to be exposed for proper assessment. Therefore, tank tops or sports bras are recommended for shoulder exposure and shorts are recommended for hip, knee and/or ankle exposure.
How long are assessments and what should I expect?
Assessments can range between 45 to 60 minutes depending on the complexity of the issue. Your first physiotherapy session with begin with an in-depth assessment that may include health history, range of motion testing, strength testing, fitness testing, movement pattern testing, cardiovascular fitness, sensation testing and/or neurological testing. This assessment will allow your healthcare provider to establish a diagnosis and work with you to develop an individualized treatment plan to meet your health and fitness goals.
How long are treatments and what are the rates?
Physiotherapy Assessments are 45 to 60min billed at $85.00
Physiotherapy Treatments are 30 min billed at $65.00 and 45 min billed at $85.00
Chiropractic Assessments are 30-45 min billed at $80.00
Chiropractic Treatments are 20 min billed at $40.00
RMT 30 min billed at $60.00 (HST included in price)
RMT 45 min billed at $75.00 (HST included in price)
RMT 60 min billed at $90.00 (HST included in price)
Am I covered under insurance?
Most extended health plans cover a portion of your physiotherapy sessions. Our front desk staff will assist you in finding out your coverage at your first appointment if you bring in your extended health insurance information.
Do you have direct billing for extended health insurance plans?
Our clinic currently does direct billing for PHYSIOTHERAPY and CHIROPRACTIC services for SUN LIFE FINANCIAL, GREAT WEST LIFE, DESJARDIN, STANDARD LIFE, MEDAVIE BLUE CROSS, GREENSHIELD, SSQ and MANULIFE.
For REGISTERED MASSAGE THERAPY our clinic can direct bill through GREAT WEST LIFE, STANDARD LIFE, MEDAVIE BLUE CROSS, MANULIFE, GREENSHIELD and SSQ.
Direct billing allows our patients to obtain quality care without the hassle of submitting paper claims for reimbursement.
Do I need a doctor’s referral for Physiotherapy?
No referral is required for your assessment or to begin treatments. However, some extended health insurance plans may require a doctor’s referral in order to reimburse you for your physiotherapy sessions and/or Registered Massage Therapy. Our staff is available to check with your insurance provider to determine whether a referral is required for reimbursement.
