Leah Gater graduated with a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from McMaster University. Prior to this she graduated from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Science Honours in Kinesiology degree. Since graduating Leah has completed further education courses to help her better treat certain conditions including shoulder pathologies and nerve sensitivities arising from the lumbar spine (low back). She is currently completing her acupuncture education to maximize client recovery. Leah is enthusiastic about educating clients on rehabilitation and how to improve and prevent recurrence of acute and chronic health concerns.
Leah had the privilege of participating in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association national conference this summer by presenting Efficacy of self‐management programs in reducing side effects of breast cancer treatment: A systematic review and meta‐analysis of randomized controlled trials which will be published inRehabilitation Oncology Journal. For several summers during her post-secondary education, Leah worked as a counselor for children and teens with disabilities at an Easter Seals Camp in Kelowna, British Columbia. She is passionate about fitness, cooking, tea and loves to play sports and board games!
